This means taking account of issues relating to human rights and our impact on the environment, while helping our suppliers to apply a policy of responsible and virtuous production that ensures optimum quality for our customers in terms of both products and production methods. Our approach is confirmed by social and environmental audits performed periodically on our suppliers, the results of which show ongoing improvement in the overall quality of procedures.
RESPECTING HUMAN RIGHTS
In accordance with the major issues identified in the mapping of CSR issues, the Etam Group is acutely aware of the need to respect human rights and of international regulations concerning working conditions. The Group’s Code of Conduct is based on the GSCP Guiding Principles (Global Social Compliance Programme), a global reference system developed by and for brands and distributors, and aligned with the new BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) Code of Conduct.
The Group is working on developing relationships of trust and loyalty with all of its suppliers. These relationships, based on respecting the rule of law and very strict business ethics, are the measure of shared success.
With a view to offering a one-stop response to the challenges of a complex supply chain, the Global Sourcing & Sustainability Department has been tasked with developing tools to enable the Group to control its chain of suppliers (supplier portal, audit policy etc.).
